The original Blue Owl was a drive-in diner, at 2nd Avenue and Burrard, opened in the mid-1940's by my grandfather, John Michas Senior. In the late 1950's he bought the Connaught building on Broadway and Vine, which today is the home of Blue Owl Home Boutique. It continues to be a family-inspired business, involving all of the Michas, their loved ones, and friends alike.
Owned and curated by Amanda Michas, Blue Owl encompasses old world charm combined with whimsical inspirations. Specializing in one-of-a-kind vintage finds, each item handpicked based on the feeling it evokes. Frequent buying trips within Canada, the United States and Europe means stock changes frequently and is always unique. Classic European and humble North American aesthetic along with family heritage speak of Amanda's deep love and respect for history, tradition, and the purity of genuine antiques.
